The Pixies, Modest Mouse, and Cat Power are ready to rock Connecticut.

Throughout August and September, The Pixies will be rounding out the last of the shows on their North American Tour featuring Modest Mouse and Cat Power. This week, the bands are set to rock here in Connecticut on Thursday, August 24th at the Hartford Healthcare Amphitheatre in Bridgeport.

The Pixies - The Pixies are a highly influential alternative rock band known for their pioneering sound that blends punk, indie, and pop elements. Formed in 1986, the band is led by frontman Black Francis (Frank Black) and features members Joey Santiago, Kim Deal, and David Lovering. In their classic lineup, the Pixies' music has left an indelible mark on the alternative music landscape, inspiring countless bands and artists with their unique approach to songwriting and sonic experimentation. Modest Mouse - Modest Mouse is an American indie rock band formed in 1992 in Issaquah, Washington. Known for their distinctive blend of raw, introspective lyrics and eclectic musical styles that incorporate elements of rock, punk, and folk, the band is fronted by lead vocalist and guitarist Isaac Brock. Their breakthrough album "The Moon & Antarctica" garnered critical acclaim in 2000, followed by mainstream success with the hit "Float On" from the album "Good News for People Who Love Bad News" in 2004. Modest Mouse's music often explores themes of isolation, existentialism, and the human experience, making them a standout presence in the indie rock scene. Cat Power - Cat Power, the stage name of Chan Marshall, is a singer-songwriter and musician known for her emotionally charged, introspective music. Emerging in the mid-1990s, Marshall's music often delves into personal themes of vulnerability, love, and self-discovery. Throughout her career, Cat Power's distinctive voice and honest songwriting have earned her a devoted following and a respected place in the indie music landscape. She recently released her 11th studio album, “Covers” in 2022.
